That’s just an M-Sport E60; if it was an E60 M5 he’d need a lift to get to the rod bearings.

I see one of these at work once and a while. Maybe once a week or two? I assume those are just the days they were able to get it running.

What’s not natural is his standing position. I feel for his back lol

Looks like a street full of rental properties. Highly competitive street parking and little driveways.

Was spying on the old neighborhood and found this across the street from the house I lived in in the 90s. TR3 isn’t it?

The new rod bearings I just put in my E60 M5 last Fall were not swapped out on the street. Same with the ECU, voltage regaulators, ABS seat sensors, or my $900 battery cable. Meanwhile, I am just now heading out to swap out the failing air/oil separator in my Boxster as that is a *car I can actually work on myself* which is why I know that picture is not one with a happy ending. Without the special BMW diagnotic tool you can’t do shit on these cars. You can’t even change the battery out without a $700 charge to reset the electronics so that it doesn’t fry the replacement trying to charge it like the dying one you just pulled. Ask me how I know.
I almost replaced the thermostat myself but it’s five hours of labor to get to it to do the thirty minute job.
I still l
ove this car and would give a kidney for it though. No question at all.

I almost replaced the thermostat myself but it’s five hours of labor to get to it to do the thirty minute job. There’s a video on youtube of a guy in his garage running out of room from all the shit he had to pull out, laughing about it. That’s why it was done with the rod bearings and power steering reservoir. Still don’t have enough money to do the VANOS solenoids yet though, and nobody is going to make aftermarket S85 solenoids so they won’t be getting any cheaper than $2,000 each anytime soon. Fortunately, those who don’t swap the rod bearings will be supplying me soon enough.
I still love this car and would give a kidney for it though. No question at all.

Glad you mentioned the $700 battery change. That was the kicker on my E90. I remember having the conversation with my inde after I just sunk $3500 into it.
“Dealer said $700 for a FUCKING battery!”
Him: “Yeah...I can do it for $480...)
Me: “Ok man, this car is actively telling me to go fuck myself now.”
He laughs, I laugh, I pay him, I trade the car.

Good freaking night dude. I mean...just $900 for the battery cable alone. There should be some kind of award for that level of masochism.
